[Jefferson Electric 12,000V 30mA NST]
DEAD!!! This transformer died when I opened
the spark gap too much.
[Transco 15,000V 30mA NST]
DEAD!!! This one died when
setting the triggered gap. I had about a 2" gap! Don't
bother asking me why, it was supposed to be 3/4"!

[3-Pack MOT Supply]

This is the 3 pack MOT supply that I created a little
while ago. This thing is simply amazing. With 3 MOTs in
series, it will create 7.2 KV AC at about 650mA short
circuit? I am still waiting to get another MOT to make
the famed 4 pack MOT supply. Obviously, this thing has
some huge power requirements. Without ballasting it will
draw 4.5 KVA, requiring either a 120V/40A outlet or a
240V/20A outlet. However, I have put up to 4 microwave
oven caps (MO caps) in series for high voltage side
capacitive ballasting. For JL operation, only three are
used, and can be run off a 120V/20A outlet and breaker
for about 30sec before it trips the breaker. And just for
the record, Tim Johnson has been able to obtain 13 foot
arcs using an unballasted 4 pack MOT supply, a 170nF
stacked bucket capacitor, and an ASRG. WOW! And the
transformers were free. That's a 9.6KVAC / 6KVA supply
for free! Try getting a 5KVA pole pig for free!
WOW!!!!!!
